The Sopranos of St. Farquaad’s
By The Hen, What’s Up Duloc
In the grand cathedral of St. Farquaad’s, two unlikely stars have risen, not from the pulpit but from the choir loft. Meet Agnes and Mabel, lifelong friends, rivals, and self-proclaimed Guardians of the High Notes.
For decades, they have stood side by side in their golden robes, holding nothing back when the organ swells. If one belts, the other belts higher. If one holds the note, the other holds it longer. And if the director dares suggest they tone it down, they purse their lips in unison, as though to say, “We are the music.”
Some say their voices can shatter crystal. Others claim it is the stained glass that trembles at their power. What everyone agrees on, however, is that Sunday service has never been dull since the day these two joined the choir.
Whether they are harmonizing like angels or competing like divas, Agnes and Mabel remain inseparable. Back to back, note for note, they are the cathedral’s secret weapon, keeping the faithful awake, the rafters rattling, and the spirit of friendly rivalry alive.
Legend has it that when the day comes for them to sing their final hymn, heaven itself will have to make room in the soprano section. Until then, the pews of St. Farquaad’s remain packed with townsfolk who come not only for the sermon but for the spectacle of the Dynamic Duo of Duloc’s Choir.
