The Search for Ogrebell

By Peter Pan, Special Correspondent for Squeaky Leaks

There are few things more tragic than a missing fairy. I have faced pirates, crocodiles, and growing up, but nothing unsettles me quite like the disappearance of a friend whose laughter once jingled like wind chimes. Her name is Ogrebell, and she is my long lost sister of sorts. Not by birth, but by belief.

Long ago, she fluttered out of Neverland with a heart too big for the tiny corners of Pixie Hollow. She said she wanted to see the world and bring magic where it was fading. We all thought she was joking. Fairies are known for mischief, but Ogrebell had a special sparkle in her eye that meant she was serious. She left with a wand in hand and laughter in her wake, promising to return when people truly believed in fairies again.

But she never came back.

Rumors have swirled through the trees and over rooftops. Some say she landed in the swamps of Duloc. Others whisper that she found a new home among ogres who loved her for her bright green skin and brave heart. I believe she has been hiding in plain sight, waiting for belief itself to bring her home.

And now, whispers tell me that Ogrebell may soon appear in the most unexpected of places: The Ritz Theatre in Sanford. During the run of Shrek the Musical, if the audience believes hard enough, she may take flight once more.

So I am asking you, dear readers, young and old, to close your eyes and clap your hands. Say you believe. Believe in magic, in fairies, in friendship, and in the impossible. Because somewhere, Ogrebell is listening. And if enough of us believe, we just might bring her back.
